Learn to knit with us at The Woolly Bulldog!

In this class students will learn how to knit the Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit

This class takes place in person at The Woolly Bulldog, located at

#4 - 9110 Glover Road in Fort Langley, BC

This class is split into two 2 hr long sessions on:

Tuesday, June 9, 2026 and June 23, 2026

between 6:30pm-8:30pm

Class Materials (not included):

Please purchase the following materials and bring them with you to class. All materials can be purchased at TWB. Registrants will receive a student discount of 15% to be used for class supplies.

  • 1 copy of the following pattern: Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit
  • 1 pair of 3.5 mm (US size 4) circular needles in 60cm (24”) length
  • Yarn of choice (DK weight OR fingering weight held double OR fingering weight + mohair. See Purchasing Yarn section below for suggestions)
  • A tapestry needle for weaving in finished ends, fabric measuring tape and stitch markers

Purchasing the Pattern:

Patterns are the instructions which guide you through your project. They take time, effort, and skill to create. To ensure the pattern creator receives fair compensation for their work, each knitter should purchase their own pattern for individual use rather than purchasing the pattern with the intent to share with others.

The pattern can be purchased from either of the following websites:

Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit on www.petiteknit.com (please be sure to select the correct language option prior to purchasing)

Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit via Ravelry (a free Ravelry account must be made prior to purchasing - we can also help you purchase this pattern via Ravelry in-store)

Purchasing Yarn:

The Sophie Scarf has several yarn options. It can be knit with one strand of DK weight yarn, OR with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together, OR with one strand of fingering weight yarn held together with one strand of mohair. Yarn can be purchased at TWB. There are many possibilities to make the perfect scarf; some recommendations are:

Purchasing Needles:

Knitting needles come in different lengths (measured in both centimeters and inches) and thicknesses (measured in millimeters and US numerically). Needles can also be flat, circular, or double-pointed. They can be purchased at TWB.

The Sophie Scarf is made with 3.5 (US size 4) circular needles of 60cm (24”) length.

Meet the Instructor:

This class is taught by Julia, an English teacher by day and knitting instructor by night. A self-proclaimed sock knitting specialist who is often found juggling multiple cast-ons at once, she is passionate about introducing new knitters to the vibrant fibre arts community and helping them hone their craft. A Fort Langley local, she can often be found walking her dog along the water with her family and a strong cup of coffee.
